Everyone is talking about MCP. In this session we stop talking and start building.
We connect live to a Dynamics 365 Finance environment through MCP server and build an agent from scratch.
The scenario is a vendor risk query: which active vendors are a risk right now, and why? It touches vendor master, purchase orders, invoices, and quality holds. Four entities, one prompt. We walk through every step as it happens, what the MCP server is doing, why it handles cross-entity queries in ways OData never could, and what happens when the platform surprises us.
The build is not the point. What MCP does during the build is.
You’ll walk away with:
• A concrete understanding of how the D365 Finance MCP server works, seen live, not explained on a slide
• The real limitations: what breaks under load and what the documentation quietly skips
• A clear checklist before putting MCP on the critical path of any client delivery.
